Laje Beach
About the Laje Beach
It's a well-known fact that Madeira's north coast hides some of the island's most beautiful natural treasures. In fact, the beaches in this part of the region have unique characteristics that set them apart from the rest.
Laje Beach is an unsupervised beach located in the parish of Seixal, municipality of Porto Moniz, and is also known as 'Jamaica Beach', a name given to it because of the palm trees planted along the promenade, which stretches for hundreds of metres.
Sometimes, diving into the sea can be difficult due to swells and currents, so we recommend that you only go for a swim if the sea is calm.
You can, however, enjoy the landscape that surrounds this pebble beach and the tranquillity transmitted by the green of the mountain and the crystal-clear blue of the sea as you stroll along the promenade by the sea.
