I’m João Amorim, the person behind @followthesuntravel. I studied Biochemistry but quickly realised that wasn’t the right path for me. Ten years ago, I took a gap year to travel across Latin America, and since then, I’ve been exploring the world and sharing my adventures. I travel to learn, to discover genuine stories, and to immerse myself in different and sometimes challenging cultures. But I also travel to be awestruck by the incredible landscapes our planet offers. That’s why Madeira is so special to me – a place with a strong identity, surreal scenery, and the perfect mix of sea and mountains, where nature truly demonstrates its power.
