Nossa Senhora de Guadalupe Church

About the Nossa Senhora de Guadalupe Church

Located in the municipality of Machico, at the parish of Porto da Cruz, the Nossa Senhora de Guadalupe Church is considered one of the most beautiful churches on the north coast of the Island of Madeira. This religious space was built in the second half of the 16th century, in 1574.

Over time, the Nossa Senhora de Guadalupe Church, also known as the Porto da Cruz Parish Church, underwent several construction works which have given it its current appearance. The last structural restoration dates back to 2000, when the roof was rebuilt and some of the interior was restored, particularly the central part of the chancel.

Don't miss the opportunity to visit the Nossa Senhora de Guadalupe Church and the entire parish of Porto da Cruz, when touring the north-east of the island. Besides a beautiful church, there are several spots with magnificent landscapes to be visited.
