About Pico do Suna
Located in the parish of Porto da Cruz, near the border with the parish of Santo António da Serra, Pico do Suna is an area where Nature reigns in all its splendour. Thanks to being at a high altitude, it offers unobstructed views over the surrounding region.
This site is located next to the Laurissilva forest, an area protected and classified by UNESCO as World Natural Heritage Site since 1999. As such, the scenery here is dominated by the green colours that cover the surrounding valleys and hills.
From Pico do Suna you can enjoy a panoramic view that stretches from the parish of Santana to Ponta de S. Lourenço, including the highest peaks of the island of Madeira (namely the highest one, Pico Ruivo). All this, of course, with the Atlantic Ocean as a backdrop.
It should be noted that the trails that run along the steep slopes of Pico do Suna, Madeira reach an altitude of 1200 metres. Here, visitors can enjoy an invigorating hike in contact with nature or a horseback ride, for example.
Pico do Suna is located in the parish of Porto da Cruz. Thanks to being at a high altitude, it offers a privileged view over a substantial part of Madeira's east coast.
