Pico Viewpoint
About the Pico Viewpoint
Located in a privileged area, being at a high altitude, the Pico viewpoint offers visitors a broad view over the landscape of the north coast of the island of Madeira. It is therefore an ideal place to look at the rugged morphology of this region and the crystal-clear sea that bathes it.
Here you have access to a scenery enriched by the picturesque profile of the town of Porto Moniz. This parish is a must in this region, famous for its many natural, historical and cultural points of interest.
The Pico viewpoint is situated at the top of a cliff, at the end of 'Caminho do Pico'. This is a royal road that once served as the only means of connection, for both people and goods, between the different villages of the municipality of Porto Moniz.
After enjoying the panoramic views from this viewpoint, you can, for example, take the opportunity to get to know the natural and cultural heritage of this region, as well as the many hiking trails in the surrounding area. The north coast of Madeira offers a privileged contact with Nature and, in particular, with the dense Laurissilva Forest.
