The north coast of Madeira is rich in very charming natural sceneries. One of the most appreciated is the one that can be contemplated from the Rocha do Navio Cable Car. In the middle of the Natural Reserve, which was created here in 1997 in order to protect the natural legacy of this coastal area, the journey provided by this special means of transport is always unforgettable.
Located in the municipality of Santana, the exclusively marine Rocha do Navio Natural Reserve covers a total area of 1710 hectares, delimited between Ponta de São Jorge and Ponta do Clérigo. It was named after the Dutch shipwreck that took place there in the 19th century.
The Rocha do Navio Cable Car was built here mainly to make it easier for farmers to transport themselves to their farmland, which is otherwise only accessible via a steep rock trail. This five-minute aerial ride is marked by breathtaking panoramic views over the ocean and, of course, of the 'fajãs' overlooking the coastline.
Come and enjoy this memorable experience between the sky and the sea on the north coast of Madeira.
