About the Boca dos Namorados Viewpoint
The close contact with Nature that extends a little across the entire territory of Madeira is a privilege that is hard to forget. Therefore, a visit to the Boca dos Namorados Viewpoint, in the municipality of Câmara de Lobos, will certainly be a memorable experience.
This natural observatory is located in Corrida, in the parish of Jardim da Serra — the youngest parish on the island of Madeira, which was only elevated to this status in March 1996. This area is located in the upper part of Estreito de Câmara de Lobos, at an altitude of around 1,000 metres.
Given its privileged location, the view from the Boca dos Namorados viewpoint is characterised by its vastness and great beauty. From here, you can see the Curral das Freiras valley, a place famous for being sheltered by imposing mountain peaks.
Plus, in the green scenery offered by this viewpoint, you can also see Eira do Serrado and the central massif of the island of Madeira. We should point out that, from here, visitors can also access a footpath that leads them to Curral das Freiras.
