São Sebastião Viewpoint
About the São Sebastião Viewpoint
Located in the parish of Ribeira Brava, the São Sebastião Viewpoint offers visitors a panoramic perspective over Madeira's west coast. It is the ideal place to enjoy some quiet moments contemplating the Atlantic Ocean and the seafront.
This natural viewpoint can be found at Caminho de São Sebastião. It is situated on top of a cliff, overlooking the town of Ribeira Brava. For this reason, from here it is possible to observe practically the entire extension of this parish laying in an impressive valley.
In addition, the São Sebastião Viewpoint allows you to see the maritime coast of Quinta Grande, in the municipality of Câmara de Lobos, parish of Campanário, where we can find the well-known Fajã dos Padres, Lugar de Baixo and, in the background, Ponta do Sol, whose rock formations enter the sea.
Looking east or west, the São Sebastião Viewpoint offers a scenery dominated by the vibrant presence of the sea. Visitors can also take the opportunity to get to know some of the points of interest in the surrounding area, such as the Madeira Ethnographic Museum or the São Bento Fort, for example.
