About Solar dos Herédia in Ribeira Brava
Classified as a Monument of Municipal Interest since 1994, Solar dos Herédia, Ribeira Brava, is a relevant element of the historical and architectural heritage of the west coast of the island of Madeira.
This iconic Ribeira Brava building is located in the town centre. It was the home of Francisco Correia Herédia, founder of the municipality and Viscount of Ribeira Brava. In fact, the history of Solar dos Herédia, Ribeira Brava, is more than two hundred years old.
It was built between the late 18th century and the early 19th century, preserving some architectural features typical of the palaces of that time. In addition, the facilities include a very large outdoor garden, which accommodates a large diversity of botanical species.
