Cotrim Beach

Located on the east coast of the island of Porto Santo, Cotrim Beach offers a very different bathing experience to its visitors. Located in Serra de Fora, in a place known as Porto dos Frades, it stands out for being a beach sculpted in the middle of the rocks as a result of erosion by the sea and wind. It's a mixture of sand and stone and is bathed by crystal-clear emerald waters.

Being far from the extensive nine-kilometre stretch of sand, this is a fairly quiet beach, often even deserted. In this place, you can spend a different day in the golden island, being able to enjoy several amenities, such as a parking area and some restaurants nearby. However, it has no bathing facilities.

Also, take the opportunity to explore this peculiar place. Porto dos Frades has a great historical and cultural importance for the island. We should note that here there were salt mines and a lime factory, with a kiln. So, be sure to dive into these vestiges of Porto Santo's History.
Finally, for those who love adventure at sea, Cotrim Beach is also a great place for snorkelling.
