Here, the hiking experience is enriched by panoramic views, some elegant and very photogenic tunnels and waterfalls.
Beginning at Ginjas, in the municipality of São Vicente, this trail follows the walkway of Levada Fajã do Rodrigues, also known as Levada Fajã da Ama.
The point of arrival is Ribeira do Inferno, whose bed originates this 'levada', and then continues from here, through ridges and small valleys, to irrigate the agricultural fields of São Vicente.
At the beginning of Levada Fajã do Rodrigues, you can observe the arboreal plant species existing in the exotic forest that precedes the indigenous Laurissilva forest, where dense vegetation is predominant.
The green vitality of this area is guaranteed by the water streams and waterfalls that embellish the scenery and make the wonders of photography lovers.
Tunnels are common along Levada Fajã do Rodrigues, adding some mysticism to the experience.
In addition, you can enjoy panoramic views which, at some points, allow you to appreciate the wide extent of the São Vicente valley. The return trip follows the same trail.
