Madeira Cultural Centres
The dynamic cultural life of the archipelago deserves to be lived intensely.
An archipelago with life
Madeira has countless cultural venues scattered throughout its territory with an appealing programme of events all year round. Enjoy the dynamism that the archipelago has to offer!
The intense dynamism of the archipelago coexists closely with the peaceful atmosphere of its nature. The various cultural centres scattered throughout Madeira promote the vitality of an increasingly effervescent cultural offer.
The cultural centres in Madeira are spread out all over the territory, with very different missions and profiles. Visitors may, for example, find centres installed in historic buildings, such as the Culture Centre - Quinta do Revoredo. This space, surrounded by pleasant garden areas, was acquired by Santa Cruz City Council and currently has an exhibition room, plastic arts workshop, photographic laboratory, library and open-air amphitheatre.
Likewise, there are several cultural centres that are housed in modern facilities, perfectly integrated into the urban landscape. This is the case of the Culture and Congress Centre of Porto Santo, which comfortably hosts congresses, musical shows and cinema screenings, or the Machico Forum, which enjoys excellent conditions.
Some of the cultural centres in Madeira, such as the Culture Centre of Santana or the John dos Passos Cultural Centre, also assume the primary mission of disseminating the work of artists connected to the archipelago.
