The Levada das 25 Fontes is one of the most popular trails among tourists and locals. With 4.3km, this trail surprises by the exuberance of nature.

The route along Vereda do Pico Fernandes begins at the regional road (ER 209), on the Paul da Serra plateau, and follows an old footpath to PR 6 Levada das 25 Fontes, then continues along it to the 25 Fontes lagoon.

The route starts at the regional road (ER209), in Fanal, and follows PR 13 Vereda do Fanal until it reaches, on the left, the turn-off that takes you to Levada da Rocha Vermelha.

From 5th to 6th April the parish of Ilha, in the municipality of Santana, hosts another edition of the Lemon Festival. The event that pays homage to local lemon production is also a very lively and popular festival among the inhabitants of the municipality, with an eclectic program, which includes a range of diverse cultural and recreational activities.

The 7th edition of Maxi Race Madeira, an international trail running event, will take place on 6th and 7th December. Organised by Clube Naval do Seixal, in partnership with the Municipality of Porto Moniz, this competition consists of four distance races (Ultra - 100 km (D+3500/D-3500), Long - 55 km (D+5500/D-5500), Medium - 25 km (D+1300/D-1300) , Mini - 15 km (D+550/-550)).

Rabaçal offers visitors a privileged view over a grand valley covered with the exuberant Laurissilva vegetation. It is an area of rest and silence.

On the 5th of January, at 7 pm, hymns of the Epiphany are sung at Praça do Povo, in a concert open to the public which revives this Madeiran tradition. The Arrival of the Three Kings is celebrated on the 6th of January, and tradition has it that it be celebrated with the famous Bolo-Rei (Three King’s Cake), which contains a broad bean and a small gift inside. According to tradition, whoever is lucky enough to receive the slice which contains the broad bean, will have to buy the cake the following year, and whoever gets the gift will have to buy the drinks, thus keeping to tradition year after year.

Located in Caniçal, the Quinta do Lorde Marina is prepared to accommodate more than two hundred pleasure boats and enjoys a unique landscape.

In the municipality situated further west on Madeira Island, we can find the Calheta Recreational Port. Located right next to the artificial sandy beach, this port can accommodate up to 337 small boats.

The route along Vereda da Palha Carga starts at the regional road (ER 209), next to Louro da Gota, and follows PR 13 Vereda do Fanal for the first 100 metres until you find the turn-off to 25 Fontes on the left.

Vereda da Ponta de São Lourenço - This trail will take you to discover the eastern tip of the island, with panoramic views over the north and south sides.
