From Madeira's viewpoints, you can take in the magnificence of the highest peaks, the density of the green areas that characterise the millenarian Laurissilva forest, the terraced agricultural fields (the famous 'poios'), the streams and waterfalls that wind their way across the mountains, the jagged cliffs of the seaside or, of course, the crystal-clear depths of the Atlantic, as a backdrop to the life that goes on in these islands.
